Saipem has secured a new offshore contract in Angola valued at approximately USD 350 million, awarded by Azule Energy Angola S.p.A. for work on the West Hub Tails project, the Italian engineering and construction company announced on September 14, 2026.

Contract Scope and Project Location

The contract was assigned by Azule Energy Angola S.p.A., an incorporated joint venture owned by Eni and bp. The work forms part of the broader Agogo Integrated West Hub Development, situated 180 kilometers offshore Angola at water depths reaching up to 1,750 meters. Saipem's scope of work encompasses the engineering, fabrication, transportation, and installation of subsea infrastructure.

This includes approximately 62 kilometers of flowlines, risers, and umbilicals, all of which will be tied in to the Agogo Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading unit, known as the Agogo FPSO.

The contract carries an expected duration of approximately two and a half years.

Vessels and Fabrication Operations

For the offshore campaign, Saipem will deploy two of its construction vessels: the FDS and the Normand Maximus. Fabrication activities for the project will be carried out at Saipem's Ambriz yard in Angola, with the involvement of local companies and workforce. The use of the Angolan yard underlines the company's stated commitment to developing local industry capacity in the countries where it operates.

The award adds to Saipem's established record of executing complex offshore projects in the West Africa region.
