DeepOcean has successfully completed subsea construction and tie-in work at the Teal West development on the UK Continental Shelf, bringing the Central North Sea oil and gas field on stream for operator Anasuria Operating Company.

Scope of Work and Infrastructure Installed

The global ocean services provider carried out the installation of a flexible production riser and flowline, together with an umbilical connecting the Anasuria floating production, storage, and offloading vessel to the Teal West subsea Christmas tree. DeepOcean's scope also included protection of the flowline and umbilical, as well as commissioning of the newly installed infrastructure.

The Teal West field has been developed as a subsea tieback to the existing Anasuria FPSO, which is situated approximately 180 kilometres east of Aberdeen at a water depth of approximately 90 metres.

The field development comprises two production wells and a water injection well. Initially, one production well will be connected to the Anasuria FPSO via approximately three kilometres of subsea flowlines.

Diverless Operations Using Proprietary Tooling

A notable feature of the project was the method by which subsea connections were made.

The operation was executed using a remotely operated vehicle combined with specialised tooling, replacing the need for diver intervention traditionally required for such tasks.

DeepOcean deployed its proprietary tie-in tool, which performs diverless connections for high-pressure flanges, enabling the connection of pipes and valves through the use of subsea robotics.

The offshore operations were executed in a phased approach, with subsea construction and tie-in activities completed first, followed by commissioning performed by a second offshore construction vessel drawn from DeepOcean's chartered fleet. Engineering and project management for the subsea construction and tie-in scope were led by DeepOcean's Aberdeen office.
